What is the Google Sandbox?

Google Sandbox refers to a hypothetical mechanism that factors a website’s age (or lack thereof) into its ranking on popular keywords. It is an alleged filter placed on new websites. The Sandbox acts as a de facto probation for sites, possibly to discourage spam sites from rising quickly, getting banned, and repeating the process.

How to find out if your website is sandboxed?

Finding out if your website is ‘Sandboxed’ is quite simple. If your website does not appear in any SERPs for your target list of keywords or if your results are highly depressing even if you have lots of inbound links and almost perfect on-page optimization, then your website has been Sandboxed.

Why do you get sandboxed?

Some sites have gotten out of the sandbox in a week, while others can take up to a year or more. No one knows if any one contributing factor gets you out sooner rather than later. Some point to the age of inbound links, or the frequency with which your site acquires them. Some say that getting too many inbound links too quickly appears artificial, and is flagged as spam. But others argue that Google can’t know how fast a site should acquire links. A website that received national news coverage, for example, could acquire hundreds or thousands of links in a day. It’s likely that no one outside of Google fully understands how the sandbox works. The problem has been noticed and discussed for nearly 2 years, and no one has given a satisfactory answer. What’s crystal clear is that Google has made it so complex that it cannot be reverse engineered.

As far as the Internet is concerned a domain name is the core identity of a website. A domain name a website’s address and since websites are in the primary business of attracting surfers it is the selection of a domain name that could make or break your business to some extent.

A domain name that is short and has great recall will be most successful. Unless surfers on the net remember your domain name or bookmark it they are unlikely to return or recommend your website to others.

Even if you do have an innovative and generic domain name like ” cosmetics.com” you need to consider registering other names like ” sunblock.com; blush.com; lotions.com; perfectcomplexion.com and so on” The purpose is that any potential customer looking for any cosmetics or information on cosmetics must be led to your site irrespective of what they type into a search engine browser.

Although .com is the most popular and most preferred tld, It is important to think beyond.com and consider options like .net, .org, info and .biz.

Weigh the pros and cons of using hyphens in a domain name. Hyphens are believed to be advantageous with search engines but people tend to forget them which results in loss of type-in-traffic to your site.

Ensure that the domain name you choose does not infringe any trademarks or copyrights.

Be sure to register your domain name and take all steps to protect your property and rights.

A domain name is your identity or company name on the Internet so you must choose it wisely if you intend your online business to be a success.

Use keywords that pertain to your business or website in the domain name. And be sure to cover all bases.

Weigh the pros and cons of choosing a country specific domain over a universal one. A dot com is universal while a dot co.uk is country specific. Here you need to study your business plan carefully and think about future growth potential.

When choosing a domain name think about profits, search engine optimization, human recall, and relevance. In the World Wide Web it is traffic that will drive your business and what drives traffic is easy accessibility.

Website interactivity with your potential customers is of utmost importance and there are many ways of doing this. Information is key here so you should try and provide as much information as possible so that visitors feel confident in doing business with you.

At the very least you should provide an email address, but beware of a simple hyperlink on your webpage as this will quickly get harvested by the spammers and your inbox will be clogged in no time. The email address can be disguised by just stating it in text without the @ symbol, or you can use a simple script that does not reveal your actual email address to a browser. If you get an enquiry, be sure to always respond as soon as possible. Quite often big businesses are not able to do this and you will boost customer confidence if you reply to an enquiry promptly.

A ‘contact us’ form on the website is another good way to interact. This way you can find out more about your visitor and where they come from. Form scripts are readily available on the net, but be sure to use a secure one.

A telephone number is an important contact detail to include, but it is surprising how many sites do not give this information. You may not wish to put your address on the web site if you work from home, but it is easy to set up a post office box number address if you prefer.

You may also like to include a newsletter sign up facility to harvest the email addresses of potential customers, but not everyone wants to reveal this information. If you are normally on line during your business hours you could set up an on line help system so that a customer could ask a question and get an immediate response. This is a big commitment but can work very well

The best way to win over your customers is to offer them great value for money products or service. Give them a product thats many times over what the expected and more valuable than the price you are charging for it. Offer them great value and great products, and you will gain their trust and their business in future. Then anytime you release a new product or offer, they wont think twice before ordering from you again.

So how do you create this awesome value for money product or service that will leave your customers wanting for more? A simple answer to this question is Deliver more than what you promised for.

If you are selling something, give them a great free bonus after they order, or multiple smaller bonuses. If you are giving away free stuff like free reports sent to their email, viral marketing, and other promotions, give them more than what they were expecting. You will gain their trust by giving them more than they even expected to get and will be glad to order from you. Just make sure you aren’t using your great selling points, that should be used to sell your product, as your free gifts. You should use something that is not a super-strong selling point, but they would surely still be happy to receive.

Also you’ll want to make sure that when emailing your customers from your opt-in email lists that you should be creating, you don’t send out too many promotions. This could turn them off completely from future emails and they wont even bother opening your mail anymore. Another great way to get your customers respect is to give them something what others don’t. Research your competitors and find out what is left out of their materials most often. Whats missing from their materials that your customers would find more valuable? Then offer your product with that missing information in it for less than your competitor’s courses, and you got yourself a lot more value than your competitor. Your customers wont be able to resist the offer.

Niche Market is simply a group of people with a common interest. Some examples are hobbies, problems, desires, needs and lots of other examples. People are interested in information to help solve their problems. To develop your Niche market, first you will need to find large groups of people interested in the same thing. Think of ideas you want to research. Don’t waste time and money marketing to people who have no interest in your products or services. Only focus on groups of people who are already or genuinely interested in your product or service.

Several things are very important in selecting a niche. First, find a group of people with a common interest, then decide what they want or need. Put together a product or service to satisfy that need. Finally, ask if they are willing to pay for this information.

Seek out popular markets and make sure there is a large interest in that market. Some types of markets people have interest are money making ideas, self help, health and fitness, hobbies, religious & spiritual just to name a few.

Places to find ideas for a hot niche include Clickbank, magazines, Amazon.com, discussion groups, infomercials, direct mail, forums and blogs.

Once you have found a niche then it’s time to research your competitors and do all the research you can on that particular product. Make a decision if you are excited enough about developing around the product or service.

Once you have decided it’s time to move forward, you will need to develop a web site to promote your product or service.

All ideas will not work out. The main thing is to not get discouraged. If it does not work, find a different niche and try again. Just keep promoting your product or service and the rewards will come.

Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular internet-marketing tool used by many to promote their company’s products and services.  Affiliate-marketing programs have never been as popular before as they are nowadays. There are numerous reasons for that. The most notable reason, however, could be the fact that the benefits of affiliate marketing have now become clearer to many people than they were a few years ago.

Nowadays, man people have become internet savvy and know the importance of the internet and affiliate marketing online. Both merchants and affiliates benefit from affiliate marketing. The merchants see affiliate marketing as the chance to advertise their products and services at a lower cost while the affiliates, on the other hand, see affiliate marketing as an easy way of earning profits online by doing what they like most, and that is by creating websites. For merchants and affiliates alike, affiliate marketing is now considered as an important source of profits and revenues.

There are different types or classes of affiliate marketing, and the number of types depends on how one classifies them. The most basic affiliate marketing program, however, falls under two categories: pay-per-click (PPC), and pay-per-performance (PPP).

Pay Per Click (PPC)

PPC is the most popular type of affiliate marketing for affiliates with small websites, and probably the easiest way for them to earn money. In this affiliate marketing type, the merchant pays his affiliate whenever a visitor is referred to his site, that is whenever someone clicks through the merchant’s banner or text ads. The affiliate gets paid a certain amount even if the visitor he referred does not purchase anything from the merchant’s site.

Pay Per Performance (PPP)

PPP affiliate marketing is the most popular among merchants and is the most lucrative type for the affiliates. In this type of affiliate program, the merchant only pays the affiliate whenever his referral results into a conversion, that is whenever the visitor he has referred actually buys something from the merchant’s site or when the visitor becomes a lead. Pay-per-performance affiliate marketing can be further classified into two popular types: pay-per-sales (PPS) and pay-per-lead (PPL).

Pay Per Sale (PPS)

In a pay-per-sale type of affiliate marketing, the merchants pay the affiliates a certain fee whenever the visitors he has referred to the merchant’s site actually buys something from the merchant’s site. Affiliates are often paid on commission basis, although other merchants would opt to pay a fixed fee.

Pay Per Lead (PPL)

The pay-per-lead type of affiliate marketing is a slight variation of the PPS type and is often used by insurance and finance companies and other companies who rely on leads for their company to grow. In this type of affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever the visitor he referred to the merchant’s site fills up an application form or any similar form related to the business of the company.

Google Sitemaps Beta is a service designed for web hosting owners which enables spiders to proactively and automatically crawl information about your web hosting to Google. Sitemap helps in providing Google with more information about your web hosting than usually crawled by the Google.

If your site has dynamic content or pages that aren’t easily discovered by following links, you can use a Sitemap file to provide information about the pages on your site. This helps the spiders know what URLs are available on your site and about how often they change.

A Sitemap provides an additional view into your site. This program does not replace the normal methods adopted by Google of crawling the web. Google still searches and indexes your sites the same way it has done in the past whether or not you use this program. A Sitemap simply gives Google additional information that the search engines may not otherwise discover.

You can create Google Sitemap within a span of few minutes using the tool Google Sitemap Creator.
