Address
Unique identifier of a web page. URL (Uniformed Resource Locator) is more frequently used for this purpose.
Anchor
The place in a hypertext document which provides a link to another file. Anchors are created by HTML tags that define the kind of hyperlink.
Anonymous FTP
A method for downloading and uploading files using FTP protocol without having a username or a password. In place of a username, word “anonymous” is used, and in place of a password, email address is usually used. These anonymous FTP servers contain software, documents of various sorts, files for configuring networks, graphic images, songlyrics and all sorts of other information. If a hosting plan offers this service, your users will be able to download or upload files with FTP without having their own account.
Apache

Applets
Applets are little programs designed to run inside of a Web browser; usually written in Java. Typically used to enhance the human factors available in HTML.
ASP
ASP stand for Active Server Pages. ASP allows you to create dynamic data driven pages using HTML, scripts, and reusable ActiveX server components. When a browser or
a search engine spider requests an ASP page from a server, the server generates the web page with HTML code and gives it to the browser or spider.
Bandwidth
Bandwidth determines the amount of information that can be transmitted via a given communication channel in a given unit of time. It is usually measured in kilobits, megabits or gigabits per second.
Banner
Banner is an advertising graphic, usually in the form of a gif image.
Binary
Data represented in binary format uses only two digits - 0 and 1.
CSS

Common Gateway Interface. It is an interface that defines how data is passed and serves to connect the web with other software and databases. CGI is not a programming
language.

A directory on the server where the executable CGI scripts reside.

Domain Name
A name that identifies one or more IP addresses.
