To block a particular website on your computer follow the following steps:

Step 1:

Go to

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Step 2:

Open a “host” file in notepad. At the bottom of the line, you can see as follows
127.0.0.1 localhost

Add the following line at the end

Ex: 127.0.0.1 www.abcxyz.com localhost

The above code is written to block www.abcxyz.com website on my pc.

   That’s great way to block some sites which are not suppose to be open ( particularly adult sites ) IMO you have to enter a long list of sites over here, each day a new site is popping up in this market.

   hi all,

   There is one strange thing happening in my friends system, when he type orkut in the adress bar of his Internet Explorer suddenly a pop up comes giving some funny msgs saying it is blocked.. the pop up comes as soon as we type orkut, no need to press enter key also. Do anyone knows how we can do this?

    Simply - to unblock a website , u must undo what u did to block it in the first place??
    Isn’t that simple?
