Concentrate on content because content is the thing that attracts customers and retains their attention and turn leads into sales. It also helps in branding and gain inbound links. Quality content and proper use of keywords would improve your site PR. Article sumbmission, press release, Directory submission, Forum sigs, Blogging, RSS & Feeds it would help you to build up a huge network of backlinks.

Link exchange with similar theme and relevant sites definitely helps in driving targetted traffic to a site. Search engines also help in driving targetted traffic to a site, the use of the right keywords helps in attaining this goal.

To get good amount of traffic through search engines, optimize your site, select descriptive and relevant keyword phrases for your site, place important keywords in the site’s title tag and add fresh content at regular intervals.

There are number of ways to drag traffic to your site but I would suggest you to choose a couple or three that you might feel comfortable with, or at least understand how they work. Also, don’t try to use 25 different types of traffic the first month or two into this project. Stick with a few, and master them.
